Girls Field Lacrosse 2023 registration is now open and can be found at this link. Below is some general information on the programs being offered. All players intending to play rep lacrosse must be registered by April 1. Registration will remain open for Learn to Play and House League until April 28 or as space permits.
If your family could use some financial assistance please click this link to view a new program being offered to Grey County families through the YMCA. You could be eligible for as much as $350 per child to put towards registration fees and equipment.
Indoor training will begin for girls playing Rep Lacrosse in February at East Ridge Community School and Owen Sound District Secondary School in their gymnasiums. Indoor training costs an additional $50 payable in cash on the first night. We hope many of you will take advantage of this opportunity to get a stick in your hand as early as possible. You must register online for the upcoming 2023 rep season before participating in indoor training.
All indoor pre-season training to be held at Owen Sound District Secondary School on Wednesday's from February 8th to March 8th.
Indoor Training
U11 & U13 – Wednesdays at OSDSS 6-7 p.m.
U15 & U19 – Wednesdays at OSDSS 7-8 p.m.
Tryouts will start the week of April 3rd. Details soon.

Available Programs
Learn To Play:
8 Weeks on Monday nights, May 1 to June 26 (except May 22)
Cost - $165
In our Learn To Play program, girls born in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 will learn the basics of girl’s field lacrosse in a fun, safe environment. Girls will learn skills, play games and begin to understand proper game play in this 8-week program. Each participant will be given a North Stars pinnie. Players will need a girl’s field lacrosse stick, and a pair of running shoes.
Please sign up for U7 or U9 if your child is interested in playing Learn To Play this year. Within the U9 product, you will be asked if you are interested in House League or Rep Lacrosse. We plan to have all U7/U9 players to do Learn To Play on Monday evenings and the U9 Rep players to have an additional practice in the week.
U7 - Learn To Play:
8 Weeks on Monday nights, May 1 to June 26 (except May 22)

In our Learn To Play program, girls born in 2017, 2018 and 2019, 2020 will learn the basics of girl’s field lacrosse in a fun, safe environment. Girls will learn skills, play games and begin to understand proper game play in this 8-week program. Each participant will be given a North Star’s pinnie. Players will need a girl’s field lacrosse stick, and a pair of running shoes. We will enter the older girls into U8 tournaments. More information to follow.
U9 - Learn To Play as well as U9 - Rep
L2P - 8 Weeks on Monday nights, May 1 to June 26 (except May 22)
Cost - $165
In our Learn To Play program, girls born in 2015 & 2016 will learn the basics of girl’s field lacrosse in a fun, safe environment. Girls will learn skills, play games and begin to understand proper game play in this 8-week program. Each participant will be given a North Star’s pinnie. Players will need a girl’s field lacrosse stick, and a pair of running shoes.
Please sign up for U9 if you are interested U9 Rep. The team will practice twice a week and enter the OWFL league similar to U11 rep. There will be an additional $260 fee for this program once we determine we have enough registration.
The aim of our U9 program is to introduce girls to rep lacrosse. Coaches will strive for a fun, competitive environment where getting better is our number one goal. Girls who play U9 rep can expect to practice twice a week and play in approximately 7, one day tournaments. The girls will play 7 V 7 with a goalie. Teams will travel to cities such as Oakville, Halton, KW, Orangeville, Peterborough and Orillia.
U11/U13 House League
9 Weeks (May and June)
Cost - $165
This program is designed for girls born in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. This experience will offer girls a chance to learn the skills of the game, be active, meet new friends and compete in a fun, stress free environment. House League is tentatively planned for Tuesday night’s at Victoria Park. Each participant will need a mouth guard, girl’s lacrosse stick and a pair of running shoes. North Stars Pinnies are provided to each player.
U11 Rep:
Early April – End of July (plus optional indoor training)
Cost: $425
This program is for girls born in 2013 and 2014. Our rep program, at the U11 age offers two teams, and ‘A’ and a ‘B’ Team. The aim of our U11 program is to introduce girls to rep lacrosse. Coaches will strive for a fun, competitive environment where getting better is our number one goal. Girls who play U11 rep can expect to practice twice a week and play in approximately 7, one day tournaments. Tournament play is usually on Sundays between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Teams will travel to cities such as Oakville, Halton, KW, Orangeville, Peterborough and Orillia.
U13 Rep:
Early April – End of July (plus optional indoor training)
Cost: $450.00
This program is for girls born in 2011 and 2012. Our rep program, at the U13 age is hoping to offer two teams, and ‘A’ and a ‘B’ Team. The aim of our U13 program is to continue to build off of U11 growth of each player. Coaches will strive for a fun, competitive environment where getting better and competing with Ontario’s best is our ultimate goal. Girls who play U13 rep can expect to practice twice or three times per week and play in approximately 7, one day tournaments. Tournament play is usually on Sundays between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Team will travel to cities such as Oakville, Halton, KW, Orangeville, Peterborough and Orillia.
U15 Rep:
Early April – End of July (plus optional indoor training)
Cost: $475.00
This program is for girls born in 2009 and 2010. In 2023, we hope to offer 2 representative teams to compete in OWFL league play. The coaches will strive for our players to play at the elite level on the ‘A’ team, while also striving to work on teamwork and increase skill in a positive atmosphere. U15 players can expect to practice twice per week and play approx. 7 one day tournaments (on Saturday mornings). The team will travel to cities such as Oakville, Halton, KW, Orangeville, Peterborough and Orillia.
U19 Rep/JEWL:
Early April – End of July (plus optional indoor training)
U19 Rep Cost: $475.00
U19 JEWL: $500.00
This program is for girls born in 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005. In 2023, we will offer 2 U19 programs, a ‘JEWL’ and an ‘A’ team. The goal for the U19 program is to continue to grow from our U15 programs. It is designed to be the pinnacle program for our club. The coaches will strive for our players to play at the elite level on the ‘JEWL’ team. Players on the ‘JEWL’ team will compete in the OWFL JEWL league on week nights. Players on the U19A team will play in regular league weekends on Saturday mornings.
Refund policy for 2022
$30 fee for all NSF cheques
$40 Administration Fee will apply to All Registration Cancellations before program begins
Full Registration Fee will be refunded due to program failing to be offered
All other refund requests must be submitted to the Board of Directors for review.

Non-Resident Fee Payments
*Non-resident fees are assessed by the City of Owen Sound to all players who reside outside of the city limits. This fee must be paid prior to completing online registration. The non resident card number must be provided during the registration process. You may pay in person at City Hall or online at the City of Owen Sound website.
