  • Very little equipment is required to play women's field lacrosse. Required equipment includes:

    → Women's field lacrosse stick ¹

→ Moulded mouthguard that covers all upper teeth ²

    → Goggles ³

Note¹: A women's field lacrosse stick is different than a box lacrosse or men's field lacrosse stick in that it has a shallow pocket. For a full list of sticks that are legal (which includes nearly all sticks available for purchase by major brands in Canada, click here.

Note²: All players, including the goalkeeper, must properly wear a professionally manufactured mouth guard that fully covers the upper teeth. The mouth guard shall be of any readily visible colour other than colourless or red or white and must not have graphics of teeth. Mouth guards must not be altered to decrease protection and field players must remove protruding tabs.

Note³: OWFL and OLA mandate the use of goggles at all ages divisions for safety.

  • We will try our best to accommodate ‘friend requests’, however we may be unable to fulfill every request, as we also strive to create balanced and fair teams for play. Players will be limited to only one 'friend request' and that request must be reciprocated in order to be accepted.

  • Our local leagues are a great place for players interested in lacrosse to learn, hone and develop their skills. Local league teams are carefully constructed and rebalanced if required to ensure the most even competition possible.

Most important, local lacrosse is a fantastic way for everyone to get – and stay – involved in our lacrosse community as players and parents alike are guaranteed to make new friends that often last a lifetime.

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO GET INTO LACROSSE

You will meet like-minded families and give your child the experience of a lifetime while they stay active, learn valuable life lessons and become part of our amazing lacrosse community. Worried about experience? Don’t be! The most successful players are often those who are eager to try something new and want to be part of a great team!
