Important Information Regarding the 2025 Minor Box, Girls Box and Local League Season
The 2025 Box Lacrosse season is just around the corner and we wanted to take the time to update you with some facility changes that will impact Minor Rep Box, Girls Rep Box and Local League Box programing.
Why the Change?
OSML was notified in the fall that the Bayshore would be undergoing renovations that would make the facility unavailable for the 2025 season. As soon as we were notified our Executive and Board members have been working to secure floor time around the various communities in the area with the goal of not reducing the programs we offered in 2024.
We saw this challenge as an opportunity to introduce lacrosse to more communities in Grey Bruce and to try some new things. I am happy to report not only have we secured additional floor space but we have actually expanded our 2025 offering to hopefully include 2 Girls Box teams(U15/U17) and a U22 Minor Box team.
Local League will look a bit different this year as it will not be just a box focus but we will also introduce some elements of Field Lacrosse and the newest program to the lacrosse world Sixes! Local League families will get more information as we approach the season.
2025 Facilities
We will be playing home games and practicing out of the Southampton Coliseum and Tara Community Centre to begin the season then will be adding Shallow Lake Community Centre and the Julie McArthur Rec Centre after the Victoria Day Long Weekend. We will also be using Kilsyth and Desboro for tryouts and practices through the season.

I would like to acknowledge and thank our Executive Members Adam Barfoot, Kellie McMillen, Ryan Bergeron and our Box Scheduler extraordinaire Jenna Bergeron for quickly addressing the need and securing floor time. Also a thank you to the municipalities for working with our needs and to the City of Owen Sound for providing us with enough notice to be able to run our programming.
